Project Lead

Job Summary The Project Lead is the “voice of the customer” and is responsible for the customer experience from the estimate to on‑site delivery. The role ensures 100% customer satisfaction on all sales orders, coordinating with engineering, approvals, production scheduling, and on‑site delivery, while monitoring costs and compliance with contract documents. Job Location This position will be located at our plant in Topeka, KS. Job Responsibilities Act as the customer’s voice in OI facilities. Manage multiple sales orders concurrently. Hold a Turnover/Kick‑Off meeting at the point of sale with the C.O.M, O.S.R, and Est. to confirm scope, estimate values, and scheduling. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer updates from production to on‑site delivery. Oversee all project team aspects: engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement, and accounting. Prepare and submit change order proposals promptly. Monitor progress, proactively problem‑solve, provide technical advice, and remove obstacles to keep projects on schedule. Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems. Coordinate site visits and resolve issues from sale to completion, including change orders and schedule adjustments. Manage required submittals and approvals with the customer. Communicate initial delivery needs with Transportation and follow up as needed. Work with other project managers and plant management to minimize operational conflicts. Estimate projects and provide quotes to sales by bid dates. Contact vendors for pricing when necessary. Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, inside sales, operations, and management. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; Civil Engineering preferred. Minimum 3 years of project management experience. Demonstrated ability to manage several large to small, complex projects simultaneously. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience within the construction or precast concrete industry.
