Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Job Details

• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting with cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient populations,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts,
• Requires floating between sister facilities within the region,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement),
• Stepdown or ICU experience required (hard requirement),
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management,
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs,
• Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management,
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration required),
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years,
• Must respond to disclosure question regarding prior employment at a Providence facility,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response on a telemetry unit,
• Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery,
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and non-invasive airway support,
• Experience with central line and PICC line care preferred,
• Experience with blood product administration preferred,
• Experience with heparin protocols and procedural sedation monitoring preferred,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate,
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility,
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state
