Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Neuro Stepdown unit requiring one year of stepdown experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Works in the Neuro Intermediate/Stepdown unit of a hospital setting with 10 beds
• Cares for patients with neurological disorders, strokes, and trauma
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Patients are hard wired and may have chest tubes and subdural drains
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• Works every other weekend as required by facility
• No on-call requirements
• May float within service line to Cardiac Stepdown, Surgical Stepdown, or Medical Stepdown
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (Compact accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Stepdown experience required
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred
• Must be resilient, adaptable, patient, and a strong team player
• Ability to stand and walk for most of shift
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Cares for patients post trauma, surgical intervention, and with medical comorbidities
• Maintains professional accountability and evaluates effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations not accepted
• Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or transition to a facility outside the radius
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Holiday RTO limited to 1 request per assignment
