Welder - 3rd Shift

Position: Welder – Raymond, MS Hunter Engineering is offering a starting rate of $28.75 per hour with opportunities for advancement. Shift: 3rd shift (10pm-6am, Monday-Friday). What you’ll do Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks. Select torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal. Connect regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch. Turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame. Hold torch at proper angle to metal and guide along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld. Examine weld for bead size and other specifications. Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts. Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces. Weld along vertical or overhead weld lines. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter. Clean or degrease parts. Perform additional duties as assigned. What you’ll bring High school diploma or equivalent (required). Welding certificate (preferred). Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
