Delivery Driver/Warehouse PositionConnor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Delivery Driver/Warehouse position in Decatur, IL. We are looking for a career-minded person who is looking for a long-term position with a great company. Candidates must be available to work from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.Principal Accountabilities:Process paperwork for all inbound freight including UPS and transfersScan all paperwork in the Eclipse systemReceives incoming material by entering actual items received versus quantities shown on packing slipResolve vendor discrepancies (over/under shipments)General warehouse clerical dutiesPrepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition: check fluid levels and tire pressure: notify Branch Manager before obtaining or scheduling required repairsMaintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairsLoads delivery truck with product securely-avoid damagesDelivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining scheduleUses cell phone to report on the progress of deliveriesPicks up returns items for the companyVerifies products delivered against packing slip and has customer sign receiptServes customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaintsEnhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requestsProcess inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on packing slip or manifests with actual items receivedEfficient and effective loading and unloading of trucksInspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goodsEnsures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouseStacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and placing in a proper container or designated areaGeneral housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, dustingAssist customers at the counterPerform other duties as requestedMinimum Education/Experience Required:High School Diploma or its equivalentValid driver's license (Class C CDL required)Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutionsMathematical reasoning- ability to choose the right method or formulas to solve the problemAbility to learn Eclipse softwareMust be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracyAbility to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlinesMust have strong interpersonal communication skillsMust maintain a patient and professional attitude, while managing a busy workloadStrong organizational skills requiredMust be able to determine and prioritize workloadAbility to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery routeValid driver's license and clean driving recordEquipment Used:PCCalculatorFaxTelephonePhotocopy machineForkliftWorking Conditions:Normal warehouse environmentExposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.We offer a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, ST/LT disability, FSA, and 401(k).Please apply on our job board: Connor Co.
