Scrum Master

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Scrum Master in Okemos, MI.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will work as a servant leader and coach to enable teams to self-organize, self-manage, and deliver on their goals by following Lean-Agile practices. You will coach the organization in maturing Agile practices at both the team and enterprise level. This Scrum Master will be capable of leading software development and product teams, with experience working in Kanban environments.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Performs as a Scrum Master for 2-3 teams
* Performs assessments at the team or program level
* Leads, develops, or improves internal training courses
* Enables communication between Agile teams by participating in, organizing, and facilitating coaching sync meetings
* Maintains and creates relevant metrics to gauge team progress and drive improvements
* Contributes to yearly objectives for the Scrum Master community of practice
* Demonstrates mastery of servant leadership, including facilitation, coaching, and continuous improvement
* Focuses on improving team dynamics and performance; Helps teams manage interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and opportunities for growth; Escalates problems to management when necessary, but only after internal team processes have been unable to resolve the issue; Helps individuals and teams navigate personnel changes
* Facilitates Scrum ceremonies, removes impediments, acts as a buffer for the team from outside distractions, and ensures Scrum practices are followed; Assists teams in staying consistently accountable to their commitments
* Prepares teams for PI Planning events by calculating capacity and coaching best practices for WSJF (Weighted Shortest Job First)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
* Scrum certifications such as SP, SSM/CSM, SPC, or SASM preferred
* 5+ years of IT experience
* 5+ years of experience leading projects and/or developing or leading teams
* 3+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master
* Understanding of common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and iterative development practices
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to manage large and complex projects
* Ability to help teams write user stories and epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
* Ability to establish credibility with business stakeholders, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
* Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques such as ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
