SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER (EA) SOUTH - UNCLASSIFIED

The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a Sign Language Interpreter and Mentor in Las Vegas, Nevada. The role is part of the Communication Access Services (CAS) program and will produce video translations into ASL of printed, web, and video materials for the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Departments of State Government. Additionally, the position will provide outreach and consultation to state agencies on interpreting and communication access, help develop best practices, and may interpret for public, state-sponsored events. The interpreter will work under the direction of the CAS Program Social Services Program Specialist III, collaborate with the CAS team, and adhere to professional standards including the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct. Responsibilities Produce high‑quality ASL translations and videos for government materials; provide outreach and consultation to state agencies on interpreting best practices and legal requirements; support outreach to organizations seeking interpreting services; collaborate with the CAS team; maintain professional standards and ethical decision‑making; use relevant technology tools and video‑production software to deliver accessible content. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in any field of study Current and valid certification as a Deaf interpreter from a recognized certifying body such as Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Utah Interpreter Program, Board of Evaluation of Interpreters, etc., in good standing Registration with the Nevada Interpreter/CART Registry (or become registered within 30 days of acceptance of the position) Experience with translating written and/or video materials into ASL Experience providing interpreting services in government settings Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) #J-18808-Ljbffr State of Nevada (NV)
