Position Overview

Datamax Texas is seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team of Account Managers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

This position is responsible for executing sales strategy, developing talent, driving revenue growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the assigned territory. The Area Sales Manager will serve as a hands-on leader, providing field coaching, sales guidance, and strategic direction while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished sales leader with a proven track record in business-to-business sales management, team development, and consultative selling.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to six Account Managers to achieve and exceed individual and team sales objectives.
• Provide ongoing field coaching through customer visits, joint sales calls, and opportunity strategy sessions.
• Promote a culture focused on accountability, professional development, and measurable results.
• Assist with complex sales opportunities and support negotiations when appropriate.
• Ensure consistent execution of Datamax's sales methodology and customer engagement standards.

Business Development

• Drive new business development initiatives across the Dallas-Fort Worth territory.
• Develop strategies to increase market share and expand customer relationships.
• Partner with Account Managers to identify growth opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
• Build and maintain relationships with executive decision-makers and key business stakeholders.

Performance Management

• Monitor sales activity, pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and key performance metrics.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, pipeline reviews, and performance evaluations.
• Develop individualized coaching and performance improvement plans as needed.
• Partner with the Director of Sales on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure CRM accuracy, sales documentation, and forecasting are maintained to company standards.
• Oversee territory planning and account management strategies.
• Promote the adoption of solution-based selling across Datamax's technology portfolio, including Managed IT Services, Managed Print Services, Document Management, and Software Solutions.
• Collaborate with Service, Operations, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

• Proven success leading high-performing B2B sales teams.
• Demonstrated experience in business development, consultative selling, and territory management.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership capabilities.
• Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and CRM systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze performance metrics and implement effective sales strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred but not required.
