Designer II

The Designer II is responsible for supporting the development, preparation, review, and coordination of engineering designs, drawings, and related documentation for industrial and facility projects. This role works closely with engineers and other design professionals to create and maintain design deliverables that comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The Designer II performs detailed design activities, assists with project execution and startup efforts, and contributes to resolving engineering-related issues. Key Responsibilities Develop, prepare, review, and coordinate engineering designs, design drawings, and technical documents for systems and components in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Prepare discipline-specific design deliverables, including but not limited to: Elementary diagrams Layout drawings Review vendor design documentation for compliance with project specifications and engineering requirements. Support detailed design activities throughout project execution. Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective design solutions. Assist with system checkout, commissioning, and startup activities as needed. Support the development of project scope documents, schedules, material takeoffs, and design packages. Identify and help resolve engineering and design-related issues. Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support project objectives. Qualifications Required Experience 3 to 5 years of design experience in industrial facilities, manufacturing environments, or construction-related projects. Basic knowledge of industrial facility operations and systems. Experience with or willingness to learn 3D modeling software. Technical Skills & Knowledge Working knowledge of engineering drawing principles and standards. Understanding of engineering system design concepts. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and utilize new engineering and design software applications. Familiarity with 3D modeling software preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions with moderate supervision and guidance. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes. Performs detailed design activities in support of engineering and construction projects. Works under moderate supervision with clearly defined project assignments and objectives. Collaborates regularly with engineers, designers, project teams, and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
