Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care position requiring 1+ years of PTA experience and LTC or Rehab setting experience.

Details

• Long Term Care (LTC) setting within the Physical Therapy unit
• Caseload typically includes 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
• Treatment times average approximately 1 hour for Medicare B and 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients
• 8-hour day shifts
• No weekend or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active PTA license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• Experience in a LTC or SNF setting required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Administer treatment techniques including manual therapy, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices
• Assess and communicate patient progress with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed
• Document all treatment information accurately in the electronic documentation system per regulatory requirements
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and facility trainings as required
• Assist supervising Physical Therapist with DME and supply needs as necessary
• May supervise and support PTA students under the guidance of a Physical Therapist
• Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
• No more than 7 days of requested RTO permitted during the assignment
