This role is a Purpose Financial Advisor focusing on investment, trust, and estate planning. The specialist delivers member service and advisory solutions—including life insurance, investments, trust services, estate planning, and retirement planning—across branch, phone, and digital channels. Essential Responsibilities Proactively help members meet their financial goals by delivering and maintaining suitable financial advisory solutions. Interact with members in an advisory capacity, identifying suitable financial products and maintaining ongoing relationships through regular communication. Coordinate and engage other specialists for complex scenarios to ensure holistic member solutions. Support and train newer/less experienced FAS specialists and member-facing employees on financial advisory services to facilitate quality referrals. Use SECU technology, marketing campaigns, lead platforms, referrals, and branch visits to achieve daily activity levels aligned with productivity benchmarks. Work independently to meet expected activity productivity levels with minimal guidance and regularly report activity and results to management. Continuously seek improvements in the delivery of financial advisory services and communicate suggestions to management. Demonstrate deep understanding of SECU operational systems, life insurance software, NetX360, Envestnet, and new systems, while complying with all credit union policies, regulatory requirements, security procedures, and member information security. Greet and assist members courteously across all service channels, ensuring proper member identification and compliance with SECU’s Member Information Security Procedure. Assist in other operational areas as needed and interact professionally with other departments to facilitate member requests. Maintain performance based on KPIs, attendance, punctuality, soft skills, and call quality. Operate competency in the CXOne platform (for the FAS Contact Center) and be available in member-facing skill sets as determined by management. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and provide quality referrals. Exhibit a positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor. Complete all required quarterly training courses, continuing education, and additional training assigned by management. Note: * Performance Expectations and Essential Responsibilities represent responsibilities in which team members are expected to have already demonstrated proficiency at prior position levels. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, finance, wealth management, math, or a related field (or an additional 2 years as a licensed Investment or Trust Representative in lieu of a degree). Life insurance license required or obtained within two months of hire. Fully licensed in Investments (SIE/6/63/65orSIE/7/66) or hold the ATFA designation. At least 2years of experience as an Insurance, Investment, or Trust Representative or similar position. Ability to act in an advisory capacity and conduct informed conversations on various financial planning topics. Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and good judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, including an aptitude for meeting people, developing member confidence, and building trust in the Credit Union. Adaptability to changes in daily work and strong multi‑tasking and organizational skills. Discretion and confidentiality in handling member account information. Willingness to work additional hours when necessary. Completion of all required training, modules, and education assigned by management. Fluency in English. Adherence to the work schedule and attendance policy established by the manager. Travel for training may be required. Possession of a vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or equivalent designation. Experience in a credit union or financial services industry. Job Environment Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Background noise from other employees, copy machines, and telephone. Some job functions performed at off‑site premises. Physical Demands Comprehension of verbal and written instructions. Sit 50%, walk 25%, stand 25% of the time. Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard. Clear verbal communication and listening skills. Climb stairs if required at MSS Centers. Visual acuity required for documentation. Lift up to 5pounds.
