Grant AccountantLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in the West Bloomfield area to identify a detail-oriented and mission-driven Grant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a purpose-driven environment and has experience managing grants, funding compliance, and financial reporting.This hybrid, direct-hire position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations while helping ensure the responsible stewardship of grant funding.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full lifecycle of grant accounting activities, including tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of grant fundingMonitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with donor, federal, state, and private funding requirementsPrepare grant budgets, financial reports, and reimbursement requestsReconcile grant-related accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentationAssist with month-end and year-end close processesCollaborate with program managers and leadership to monitor grant spending and budget performanceSupport audit activities by preparing schedules and providing documentation related to grants and funding sourcesEnsure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and organizational policiesAnalyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve reporting accuracy and efficiencyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organizationDirect experience with grant accounting, grant reporting, or fund accounting strongly preferredKnowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principlesStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systemsAbility to manage multiple grants and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience working with federal, state, or foundation grantsExperience supporting nonprofit auditsFamiliarity with fund accounting and restricted fundsCPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to applyCompensation & BenefitsDirect Hire OpportunityHybrid Work ScheduleCompetitive Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to make a meaningful impact within a mission-focused organization LHH
