This role ensures pets are properly cleaned, handled safely, and prepared for grooming services while maintaining a clean and organized salon environment. The Bather plays an essential role in delivering a positive pet and client experience.Essential Functions:Bathe dogs according to established salon proceduresTrim nails safely and appropriatelyDry dogs using proper equipment and techniquesAssist Groomers with preparation and handling of petsMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of bathing areas and equipmentSafely restrain and handle animals during bathing and grooming supportMonitor pets for signs of stress or discomfort and report concerns to supervisorSupport overall salon operations as neededPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies:Ability to safely handle and work with animalsStrong attention to detailAbility to follow instructions and established proceduresPhysical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentTeamwork and collaborationDependability and punctualityCustomer service awarenessSupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibility.Work Environment:This position operates in a Retail/Pet Salon environment. The role involves regular interaction with animals, grooming equipment, water, cleaning solutions, and grooming tools. The environment may be wet, noisy, and fast-paced.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This position requires many types of movement and the handling of heavy items. The employee must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, lift, and restrain animals of varying sizes. The role requires frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to lift and maneuver pets and equipment as necessary.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This position may be Full-Time or Part-Time.
