Responsibilities Physical Therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education and prescribed movement. We work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities. In this position within Presbyterian’s Acute Care Rehabilitation department, you will treat a variety of patients and collaborate with a diverse team of therapists. Additional Job Duties Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy, including application and rationale of interventions. Basic computer skills required. Basic understanding of rules and regulations of the specific setting. Evaluates and treats patients using a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan. Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial and environmental well‑being of the patient. Promotes patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing resource utilization to achieve highest level of independence. Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and throughout the episode of care. Acts as patient advocate. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications New graduates are encouraged to apply. Bachelor’s degree required. Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred. New Mexico License of Physical Therapy required. BLS required at time of hire.
