Job Details Position Title: Digital Asset Manager Location: Omaha, NE 68137 (onsite) Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $66,000 - $72,000 per year with flexibility up to $78,000 for exceptional candidates Reports To: Creative Director (dotted-line accountability to the Hurrdat Media Director) About the Role We are hiring an experienced Digital Asset Manager to own how Hurrdat captures, organizes, secures, and distributes the photo, video, audio, and design assets generated across Hurrdat Marketing, Hurrdat Media, Hurrdat Sports, Hurrdat ONE, and our in‑house video and creative production teams, as well as our enterprise client work. This is not a training‑wheels role; the expectation on day one is that you already know how to run a DAM operation at scale. What You Will Own Asset architecture and migration: Lead transition off legacy systems onto our emerging cloud and data infrastructure, partnering with Senior AI/ML Engineer and Data Science Director. Library operations across divisions: Govern the unified asset library serving all Hurrdat departments and enterprise clients. AI‑first workflow design: Identify, evaluate, and implement AI and automation across ingest, metadata generation, tagging, transcription, search, derivative creation, and distribution. Ingest and standards: Set protocols for how assets enter the library from photographers, videographers, audio engineers, motion designers, and external contributors. Metadata and findability: Define metadata schema, taxonomies, and naming conventions; promote AI‑assisted enrichment where it improves recall. Distribution and access: Build an access model that enables appropriate teams while restricting unauthorized use. Quality control and audits: Run regular audits for duplication, versioning, file integrity, resolution, and format; resolve issues at the system level. Backup, security, and disaster recovery: Own backup strategy, retention policy, and access controls, coordinating with internal IT and data leads. Rights, licensing, and compliance: Track and manage usage rights, licensing terms, and clearance status for client work, sports content, music, talent likeness, and third‑party assets. Cross‑team enablement: Train and support producers, designers, account teams, and creators to use the system for self‑service. Who You Are 5+ years running digital asset management in a high‑volume creative, media, sports, or production environment; coordinator‑level experience alone is insufficient. Hands‑on experience leading a DAM migration or full system replacement. Direct experience with cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and AWS, plus working knowledge of Snowflake or equivalent. Demonstrated track record applying AI and automation to asset workflows. Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite file types, video codecs and containers, RAW photo formats, audio formats, and large media files. Working understanding of metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomy design. Working understanding of copyright, licensing, talent releases, and usage rights in media and sports contexts. Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical decisions to creatives and creative needs to technical people. Self‑directed, outcome‑oriented, comfortable owning a roadmap and being measured on results. Bonus Points Experience replacing PhotoShelter, Photomechanic Plus, Bynder, Brandfolder, Frame.io, Iconik, or similar platforms with custom or hybrid infrastructure. Design or contribution to a custom‑built DAM layer on top of cloud object storage (S3, GCS) rather than off‑the‑shelf SaaS only. Support for live event and game‑day capture workflows at scale. Experience with rights management for sports media, music licensing, or talent likeness. Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or AI‑assisted media search. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (education background is secondary to built experience).
