Precision Spindle Rebuild Assembler

 

Are you a skilled mechanical assembler, machine builder, or repair technician who enjoys precision work? We're looking for a Precision Spindle Rebuild Assembler to join our team. In this role, you'll rebuild high-precision machine tool spindles and components that are critical to manufacturing operations across multiple industries.

If you have experience rebuilding complex mechanical equipment, reading blueprints, working with precision measurements, and take pride in producing quality work, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and rebuild precision spindles and machine tool components to OEM and company specifications.
• Inspect parts using engineering drawings, GD&T, and precision measuring instruments.
• Replace worn or damaged components while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Assemble, test, and install motors and electrical components including wiring, crimping, pinning, and soldering connectors.
• Clean, lubricate, and install precision bearings using proper handling and assembly techniques.
• Set bearing preload and configurations using specialized tools and calculations.
• Operate manual equipment including lathes, grinders, and other shop machinery.
• Record labor and production information in ERP/MRP systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of experience in machine building, equipment repair, spindle repair, industrial maintenance, or automotive engine/transmission rebuilding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with precision bearings and bearing installation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to read complex blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Experience with ERP or inspection software is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable controls, or industrial electronics is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
• Frequently bend, kneel, and position yourself while assembling components.
• Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and overhead cranes.
