Engineering Manager, Agent

Salary: $222,431 - 261,684 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years leading engineering teams on complex, cross-functional product work with strong speed and quality
• We look for a proven team builder who can hire, develop, and retain strong engineering talent while fostering a collaborative, empowering, high-performing environment
• We need sound technical judgment with the ability to guide architecture, assess tradeoffs, and uphold engineering excellence without being deeply hands-on every day
• We value a clear communicator who can work effectively with technical and non-technical partners across Product, Design, and Research
• We want a strategic thinker who can plan 12+ months ahead, then adjust priorities quickly as new information emerges and make thoughtful bets
• We need someone adaptable and resilient who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and brings high ownership with a bias toward action
• Bonus experience: building agents, creating evals, or leading teams that build LLM-powered products
• Bonus experience: building creative tools or being an active user of creative media tools

• We own execution by aligning priorities, coordinating stakeholders, adapting plans to improve outcomes, and driving strong delivery through disciplined planning and follow-through
• We define team direction by connecting customer needs, product vision, and technical constraints in close partnership with Product, Design, and AI Research
• We develop our team by mentoring engineers, creating growth opportunities, giving direct feedback, and addressing underperformance early
• We drive operational excellence by making execution predictable, reliable, and sustainable through strong project management and engineering practices
• We maintain a high technical bar by guiding architectural choices, making sound design tradeoffs, reducing tech debt, and delivering reliable systems
• We lead a team of 5-6 software engineers focused on advancing our agentic video editor, Underlord
