Overview: \n

\nThe Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production. This role ensures high-quality output, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support new product introductions.\n

• Process Development & Optimization:

• Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Quality & Compliance:
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve defects and maintain product integrity.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Equipment & Technology:
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Work with vendors on equipment upgrades and maintenance strategies.
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Collaborate with R&D on process requirements for new fiber optic cable designs.
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Continuous Improvement:
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Support cost reduction projects without compromising quality.
\n

\n
\n

• Troubleshooting & Support:
\n

\n
\n

• Provide technical support to production teams for process-related issues.
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

Qualifications: \n
\n
\n

\n
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or similar Engineering related field.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Experience:
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• 1-year practical experience in manufacturing environment encompassing manufacturing engineering, statistical planning techniques, business systems, project management, and or quality control. Experience through internships or co-ops preferred.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Knowledge of extrusion, polymer processing, and optical fiber handling is a plus.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Skills:
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Familiarity in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
\n

\n
\n

\n
• Other:

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications: \n

• Previous experience in telecommunications or fiber optic cable manufacturing.

• Hands-on experience with extrusion processes, including polymer handling and die design.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production lines.

• Occasional lifting of materials and standing for extended periods.
