This role oversees warehouse employees and daily operations to ensure the department consistently meets safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness goals. The Warehouse Supervisor 3 leads and supports hourly employees, addresses performance concerns, and implements continuous improvement processes to maintain efficient and compliant warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee warehouse employees to ensure departmental objectives for safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness are consistently met.
• Address performance behaviors by recognizing and reinforcing positive performance and promptly correcting negative behaviors.
• Use the Quality Network problem-solving process to identify and resolve operational issues and actively engage the workforce in generating improvement ideas.
• Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) processes to optimize warehouse layouts, workflows, and overall efficiency.
• Perform daily updates in the Timekeeping System (TKS) to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll data.
• Use the A-3 reporting format to document problem-solving activities and follow local A-3 guidelines and standards.
• Conduct daily meetings to communicate business performance, share updates, and facilitate two-way discussions with employees.
• Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of departments to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Plan daily workloads in advance to align staffing and resources with operational requirements.
• Support colleagues and collaborate across shifts to optimize overall shift performance and achieve shared goals.
• Observe and adhere to applicable national and local contractual requirements.
• Enforce shop rules consistently and fairly to maintain discipline and order within the warehouse.
• Perform daily audits of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Advance personal skills and leadership capabilities through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
• Keep the General Supervisor and Shop Committee informed of all pending activities, issues, and relevant operational updates.
• Oversee warehouse operations and supervision, including coordination of unionized workforce (UAW) where applicable.
• Ensure timekeeping practices comply with company policies and support accurate reporting and accountability.

Essential Skills:

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures relevant to warehouse and production environments.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, warehouse management, and warehouse supervision.
• Ability to use and update timekeeping systems (TKS) accurately for payroll processing.
• Knowledge of basic math to support scheduling, planning, and performance analysis.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to convey instructions, provide feedback, and lead meetings effectively.
• Understanding of basic technology used in the assigned area, including relevant systems and tools.
• Knowledge of scheduling and other management systems to plan workloads and manage resources efficiently.
• High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems and make sound operational decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and drive performance.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures to maintain and improve product and process quality.
• Experience working with unionized environments (UAW) and understanding of related workplace dynamics.
• 57 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, supervision, or a closely related field.
• High school diploma with at least 12 years of technical or business school training.
• Training in a skilled trades area or equivalent technical training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies such as Quality Network and A-3 reporting.
• Familiarity with Workplace Organization (WPO) practices to enhance efficiency and organization.
• Experience conducting safety observation tours and implementing safety improvements.
• Proficient in timekeeping, payroll support, or workforce scheduling.
• Ability to lead daily performance meetings and facilitate open, two-way communication with teams.
• Demonstrated ability to enforce policies and shop rules consistently and fairly.
• Experience working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and performing regular compliance audits.
• Commitment to continuous professional development through structured development plans (IDP) or similar programs.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a warehouse environment with a regular weekday schedule from 1:30 p.m. to 10:12 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role focuses primarily on supervisory, organizational, and administrative responsibilities rather than intensive physical labor. You will work with timekeeping systems, scheduling tools, and standard operating procedures, and participate in regular safety tours and team meetings. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to established processes, and efficient coordination of daily workloads.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
