Job Summary: The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for outpatient and inpatient patients undergoing endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedures across the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of care. This role is responsible for patient assessment, moderate and deep sedation monitoring, procedural assistance, recovery care, emergency response, patient education, and the operation of specialized medical equipment while ensuring safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in Nursing.
• License:
  • Current unrestricted RN license in one of the 50 US States and/or territories
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS/ALS)
• Experience :
  • At least 1 year of RN experience in an inpatient or outpatient healthcare setting.

U.S. Citizenship is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Assesses, plans, implements, performs, and evaluates nursing care for a wide spectrum of outpatient and inpatient patients scheduled for endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedures in pre-op, intra-op and post-op.
• Delivered comprehensive pre-op, intra-op, and post-op nursing care for inpatient and outpatient patients undergoing endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedures.
• Administered moderate sedation, medications, IV fluids, blood products, and oxygen therapy while continuously monitoring patient status and response.
• Served as circulating and recovery nurse for endoscopy and bronchoscopy cases involving moderate and deep sedation.
• Monitored patients throughout procedures using EKG, cardiac/telemetry, and pulse oximetry equipment, recognizing and responding rapidly to clinical changes and emergencies.
• Initiated and supported BLS, CPR, and ACLS interventions during medical emergencies.
• Assisted GI and anesthesia providers during procedures with patient positioning, monitoring, biopsies, and procedural support.
• Educated patients and families on procedure preparation, recovery, discharge instructions, and post-op care, tailoring teaching to individual needs.
• Managed controlled substances and narcotics with accurate documentation, safekeeping, and compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
• Completed detailed nursing documentation, including care plans, progress notes, discharge criteria, and post-procedure follow-up communication.
• Handled biopsy specimens with precise documentation, transport, and coordination with pathology to ensure timely retrieval and processing.
• Directed and supported ancillary staff while collaborating with nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary teams in care planning and daily huddles.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a dimly lighted or dark room for procedures. Must be able to do heavy lifting, (45 pounds and over). Personnel must be able to stand up to 8 hours per shift with a combination of walking up to 5 hours.

Work Environment and Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am –3:30pm.

Compensation & Benefits: Up to $58.48 per hour + H&W
