Project Overview:Bechtel Energy is currently planning and executing a large number of lump sum self-perform direct hire LNG projects throughout the US Gulf Coast. In addition to LNG tanks, other Field Erected Tanks (FET) are included in projects’ scope. This has also created a demand for Tanks Manager support across the Energy Business Line.Job Summary:The Tanks Project Manager will be responsible for planning and execution of all aspects of LNG tank and other FET work performed on the project. This role will be based at one of Bechtel’s US Gulf Coast projects with some travel between jobsites and Bechtel’s Houston office. #LI-TH1 Major Responsibilities:Manage, coordinate and administer the project through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start up, initial operations and contract close out.Oversee the development of budgets and schedules, manage performance, report progress and initiate action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications.Monitor and control all contractual commitments to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract, that a trend program is in place, and that change orders and claims are processed in a timely manner.Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of project tanks scope to the customer.Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high performance project teamResponsible for project execution, ensure that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety, and to the customer and Bechtel performance expectations.Lead/conduct project and customer meetings to promote and facilitate communication, review progress/performance, discuss issues and facilitate problem resolution.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Previous project management experience on lump sum self-perform direct hire LNG tank projects is required.Knowledge of industry, technology and EPC work processes, including knowledge of customs, culture and business practicesKnowledge and experience in project execution plan development and implementationKnowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis and negotiationsAbility to effectively organize and staff a project team within a matrix organizationPrior construction supervision and management experience on EPC projects similar to the projects described aboveStrong "Zero Accident" ES&H experience; a demonstrated ability to implement and hold field contract supervision and contractors accountable for the successful implementation of the project.Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.Advanced level of knowledge of ES&H, procurement and constructionTotal Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
