Role Description and Responsibilities The Emergency Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality medical, surgical, and critical care to emergency and urgent care patients presenting with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, administering emergency procedures, managing hospitalized and critical patients, and communicating effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and costs. The Emergency Veterinarian collaborates closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and specialists to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, maintains accurate and detailed medical records, ensures compliance with hospital protocols and medical standards, and contributes to a positive team culture while supporting the highest standards of patient welfare and client service. Its modern emergency hospital is designed to support the management of urgent medical, surgical, and critical care cases, with dedicated treatment, hospitalization, and surgical areas. The hospital provides comprehensive emergency and critical care services for dogs and cats, including emergency consultations and triage, advanced critical care, emergency and soft tissue surgery, hospitalization, intensive patient monitoring, diagnostic testing, management of trauma and toxicities, treatment of acute medical conditions, and compassionate end-of-life care. As a dedicated 24/7 emergency facility, the team works closely with referring veterinarians and specialists to deliver exceptional patient care and support to pet owners throughout Southern California. Team The hospital is supported by a team of 2 DVMs working alongside a strong group of experienced veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
