Facilities Manager (FT)

Facilities Manager (FT), Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, Brockton, MA The facilities manager oversees the daily operations, safety, and overall maintenance of buildings and grounds. This position ensures that the facilities are secure, utilities and mechanical systems operate effectively, and that the property is maintained to provide a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. Essential duties Assess building and grounds to ensure that they are safe, secure, and not in need of repair. Monitor for and report safety hazards, structural issues, leaks, fire risks, or suspicious behavior. Respond to emergency situations by contacting the appropriate authorities and leadership. Facilities Maintenance and Operations Perform routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure proper function. Identify maintenance needs and either perform these repairs or communicate these needs to appropriate staff and/or vendors. Support seasonal operations, such as snow removal, ice treatment, leaf clearing, and storm preparation. General Grounds and Property Care Responsible for overall cleaning of the facilities at Brockton. Support upkeep of outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, entrances, and landscaped spaces. Identify and report issues related to the grounds condition, drainage, fencing, exterior lighting, and signage. Job Skills and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Minimum of three years of experience the facilities, maintenance, or a related field. Mechanical aptitude including basic plumbing, HVAC awareness, and electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot building system issues. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal work hours as needed. Work Environment Extreme hot and cold temperatures. High noise environments. Outdoor settings and indoor mechanical rooms. Conditions involving dust odors or atmospheric exposure. Physical Demands Standing and walking for long periods. Bending, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, lifting, and manual handling of equipment. Ability to perform physical tasks during emergencies or inclement weather.
