Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiographic examinations for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency populations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), cardiac hemodynamics, strain imaging, contrast studies, and pediatric cardiac assessments. This role requires strong technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to independently acquire and document high-quality diagnostic images while collaborating closely with physicians and cardiovascular team members. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies utilizing appropriate cardiac imaging modalities and techniques. Independently obtain high-quality diagnostic images and accurate measurements for interpretation by physicians. Conduct adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency patients. Perform advanced cardiac imaging procedures including strain imaging, PISA quantification, bubble studies, and contrast‑enhanced echocardiography using Definity and Optison. Evaluate cardiac anatomy, function, hemodynamics, and abnormalities while documenting findings accurately. Assist physicians and cardiovascular specialists in the interpretation of echocardiographic studies. Perform basic pediatric echocardiography examinations for patients aged five years and older. Accurately document patient information, measurements, and exam results within electronic medical record systems and imaging platforms. Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, including GE and Philips ultrasound systems. Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions, patient safety standards, and departmental protocols. Support orientation, education, and training of students, trainees, and new staff members as needed. Collaborate effectively with physicians, sonographers, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Qualifications Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required OR graduation from a CAAHEP‑accredited Sonography Program. Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential through CCI required. Current BLS Certification required. Experience performing Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care settings. Strong knowledge of Cardiac Sonography, Cardiac Hemodynamics, and Cardiac Pathophysiology. Experience with Strain Imaging, PISA Quantification, and advanced echocardiographic imaging techniques. Experience performing Contrast Echocardiography using Definity and Optison, as well as Agitated Saline (Bubble) Studies. Experience with basic Pediatric Cardiac Imaging and congenital/structural heart evaluations. Proficient in Echocardiographic Image Acquisition, analysis, and interpretation support. Skilled in performing comprehensive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations independently. Proficiency with GE and Philips Echocardiography Systems. Experience documenting findings accurately within Electronic Medical Records (Epic experience preferred). Strong clinical documentation, patient assessment, and patient care skills. Knowledge of infection prevention, safety practices, and quality assurance standards. Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Ability to independently perform and complete a full echocardiographic study within established timeframes.
