The Dairy Queen Assistant Manager helps oversee daily restaurant operations, supports the General Manager, and ensures the team delivers a high-quality guest experience. This role assists with staffing, training, and operational standards while helping drive team performance and efficiency.

The Dairy Queen Assistant Manager assists the General Manager with daily operations and shift coverage. They supervise, train, and develop team members and shift leads. They ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated guest concerns. They support hiring, onboarding, and scheduling processes. They monitor labor, food costs, and inventory levels. They ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and health regulations. They assist with cash handling, deposits, and financial reporting. They maintain cleanliness, food quality, and brand standards. They help implement operational goals and improve store performance. They step in as acting manager when the General Manager is not present.

An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of basic understanding of food safety and sanitation. They will have good customer service and communication skills. They will be able to learn and follow company procedures. They will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. They will have strong time management and organizational skills. They will be team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude. They will be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience: previous supervisory or management experience in quick service restaurant or food service. They will have strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.

The working environment and physical requirements include being 18 years of age or older. They must be able to stand during the entire work shift. They must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes. They must be able to lift 50 lbs. They must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products. They must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows. They must be able to travel up to 10%.
