Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active Oregon RN license and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting providing care for patients across the full acuity spectrum, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
• Night shift schedule, 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift
• 13-week contract length
• Floating to other qualified departments may be required before core staff are floated
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays as the department operates 24/7

Requirements

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• BSN preferred
• Previous clinical experience preferred, though not required
• Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols
• Ability to work under pressure in high-stress, fast-paced situations
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and continuously walk and stand throughout shifts
• CRASE training required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months

Additional Information

• Conduct patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on severity of condition
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per physician orders, including wound care and splinting
• Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
• Document patient information and treatment plans in electronic health records
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
• Respond to rapid response calls, code blue situations, and other critical events
• Follow infection control protocols to minimize risk to patients and staff
• Work environment involves exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
• Certifications specific to clinical specialty areas are preferred
