Job Type Full-time Description The role is a full‑time Registered Nurse position located at our Brooklyn clinic, supporting adults with developmental disabilities. The position is Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am–4:30 pm. Summary Under general supervision, the RN provides evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention in accordance with ADAPT policies and applicable regulations. The RN monitors treatment plans and progress, and shares techniques with staff. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and coordinate health care services for assigned programs. Arrange medical services and issue referrals as needed. Provide follow‑up on medical problems. Conduct staff training in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, and illness symptoms. Control communicable diseases and infections through assessment, reporting, and preventive measures. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews. Monitor staff health records and provide tests as required by regulatory agencies. Administer immediate first aid and refer to outside emergency services or private physicians. Participate in routine individual case reviews. Prepare and maintain medical documentation for each person served. Administer medications when appropriate and supervise certified staff in administration; supervise medication storage. Provide supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and/or less experienced Registered Nurses. Provide first aid and attend to emergencies. Maintain the nursing office and order supplies. Transport persons served to appointments as needed. Attend team meetings and required in‑service training as scheduled. Visit persons served at home as requested by Director or designee. Stay abreast of changes in the nursing field. Perform other related duties as requested. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in community‑based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities. License and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. CPR/BLS Certification. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with co‑workers, employees, individuals, families, and outside contacts. Ability to maintain confidentiality at the strictest level. Knowledge of equipment commonly used by service recipients, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices. Compensation $55 – $60 per hour plus industry‑leading benefits for all full‑time employees. $10,000 Sign‑On Bonus for all full‑time RNs.
