Assistant Learning Specialist

Position Title Assistant Learning Specialist Position Summary The Assistant Learning Specialist provides professional academic support for at‑risk student‑athletes, including those with learning disabilities or ADHD. This role works alongside the Learning Specialist team to enhance students’ academic performance and long‑term success. Complete training on best practices for supporting at‑risk students. Conduct daytime and evening study sessions with individuals or small groups, focusing on academic skills, learning strategies, and executive‑functioning coaching. Deliver accurate and timely communication and reports to Learning Specialist and Academic Counselor staff. Recruit, interview, and assist with hiring new tutors. Train, monitor, and evaluate tutors and study hall monitors. Maintain daily records and attendance reports, process tutor session feedback, and other related administrative tasks. Assist staff members with administrative support as needed. Perform additional duties and projects assigned by leadership. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; all degrees must be from accredited institutions. Preferred Experience and Skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including at least two nights and weekends per week. Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating with a diverse group of students and staff. Prior experience working with undergraduates in a university setting. Interest in issues related to student‑athletes’ academic progress and transition challenges.
