Malware/Forensics Analyst

Job Title: Malware/Forensics Analyst Location: Washington, D.C. Required Clearance: Secret Responsibilities Execute analyses using forensics technologies to collect computer evidence. Restore data such as documents, photos, and emails from hard drives that have been deleted, damaged, or manipulated. Present investigation results and provide evidence for legal proceedings. Manage investigation processes, including analysis, documentation, and evidence handling for legal proceedings. Confirm policies, procedures, and processes related to forensic functions are updated. Analyze and investigate malware, digital artifacts and forensic evidence; develop and apply advanced methodologies for complex challenges. Perform forensic examinations on systems, applications, and networks to identify indicators of compromise. Document technical findings and provide detailed reports to stakeholders. Recommend improvements to processes and procedures based on forensic analysis. Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to resolve multi-disciplinary technical problems. Qualifications 10+ years of relevant experience in malware analysis and digital forensics. Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Expert-level knowledge of malware analysis, digital forensics principles, and complex system behaviors. Ability to identify, interpret and report on digital evidence from diverse sources; strong understanding of potential attack vectors. Experience in conceptualizing and applying advanced technical theories and methodologies. Ability to work creatively, develop innovative solutions, and apply technical expertise. Education and Experience Typically a bachelor’s degree and 4‑5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent relevant work experience (each year of work may substitute for a year of education).
