Sr. NPI Software Engineer/Surgical Robotics-Ottava Pre-Identified Candidate

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior NPI Software Engineer for surgical robotics to lead design, development, and implementation of manufacturing test solutions for electro-mechanical components in a medical robotics platform. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop automated test systems and drive product qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, qualification, and implementation of manufacturing test solutions for electro-mechanical subsystems
• Develop test algorithms, scripts, data acquisition systems with focus on repeatability and reproducibility
• Design, develop, and release electro-mechanical manufacturing test fixtures using custom and off-the-shelf components
• Mentor engineers and drive execution of test development, validation, and qualification activities
• Perform failure analysis on electromechanical equipment and manage technical documentation and bill of materials

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related engineering field
• 5+ years of experience with instrumentation automation and test systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, SQL, Batch, Bash, or Linux
• Experience designing test equipment and test fixtures
• High-quality technical documentation and communication skills
• Intermediate understanding of electrical systems and power electronics
• Medical device industry experience preferred
