Inventory Control Specialist

This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting operational continuity, and ensuring compliance with key inventory-related SOX controls across our manufacturing network.

Main Duties:

• Inventory monitoring and analysis to identify and resolve inventory variances
• Inventory reconciliations and reporting activities
• Execution and oversight of inventory-related SOX controls and documentation
• Support for cycle count and physical inventory processes
• Monitoring of inventory adjustments, COGI exceptions, and other inventory integrity activities
• Preparation of audit support and follow-up on inventory control findings
• Partnership with plant operations, finance, and supply chain teams to drive inventory accuracy and process compliance

Must Haves (i.e., years of experience?):

• 3+ years of inventory accounting or inventory control experience
• Manufacturing environment experience
• SAP experience
• SOX and audit support experience
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups at minimum)
• Proven inventory variance investigation experience

Top Three Technical Skills:

1. Inventory Analysis & SAP Inventory Management

• Analyze inventory variances and discrepancies
• Perform inventory reconciliations and tie-outs
• Research negative inventory, COGI errors, IDOCs, and inventory exceptions
• Understand cycle counts and physical inventory processes
• Work comfortably in SAP (S/4 preferred) and Excel

2. SOX Controls & Audit Compliance

• Inventory-related SOX controls
• Inventory count completeness reviews
• Inventory adjustment approvals
• Documentation and audit evidence requirements
• Segregation of duties concepts
• Control testing and compliance activities

3. Advanced Excel & Data Analytics

• Pivot tables
• VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Power Query (preferred)
• Data validation and reconciliation techniques
• Trend analysis and reporting

4. Software Skills and Purpose (if applicable):

• Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
• Experience with Sap S/4 Inventory transaction
• Blackline – Balance sheet reconciliations / SOX tasks are in this system

Industry Experience:

• CMG Manufacturing experience preferred

What do you foresee as being the biggest challenge in this position?

• Translating Inventory Issues into Operation Action – identifying Inventory discrepancies and then working with plant personal to resolve them.
• Changing procedures – we are in the midst of a reorganization and we are driving for more consistency across plants which means there will be changes at all plants to accomplish consistency
