Commercial Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This role will suit a confident construction professional who can lead from the front, maintain strong site discipline, and resolve issues promptly in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining site logistics plans, short-term programmes, schedules, daily reports, and progress updates; coordinating site activities and sequencing trades; reviewing drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change documentation; and monitoring workmanship, materials, and installation standards. You will conduct regular site inspections, toolbox meetings, and coordination meetings, while enforcing all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Superintendent will identify potential delays or risks, implement corrective actions, support cost and variation control, and maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site personnel. You will also assist with inspections, commissioning, defect resolution, handover, and closeout activities.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising commercial construction projects, with a strong understanding of construction methodology, building codes, safety legislation, and quality assurance processes. A relevant trade qualification, construction management qualification, or equivalent industry experience is preferred. Strong leadership, organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret technical documentation and manage competing priorities. Proficiency with construction scheduling, reporting, and project management software will be advantageous. A current safety qualification, construction induction card, and relevant licences or certifications may be required. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality projects while working with a professional team committed to safety, collaboration, and dependable delivery.
