Assist in performing a variety of duties, which may include a variety of clerical duties. Maintains patient charts in an accurate manner and audits adequate unit supplies for an assigned nursing unit.POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:High School graduate/G.E.D. certificate required.Graduate from an accredited CNA or PCT programCurrent CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required.Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.Current BLS/CPR certification required.Code White: Neonatal emergency response class and competency obtained within 6 months of hireWillingness to be crossed trained to other areas.Willingness to be trained and assist with PhlebotomyWillingness to be trained and assist with clerical dutiesMust be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.Good written and verbal communication skills required.Ability to read, write and speak English requiredAbility to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physiciansPrefer hospital experienceResponsibilities:Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.AGE SPECIFIC:Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to his or her age.
