Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Trauma Surgery

 This on-site, contract position is based in the vibrant community of Myrtle Beach, where you will contribute to our dynamic medical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trauma surgery procedures as directed by supervising surgeon
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments
• Perform routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and recovery
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations as necessary
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in trauma care

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
• Current licensure to practice as an NP or PA in the state of South Carolina
• Experience in trauma surgery or critical care preferred
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in electronic medical records systems
• Certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Level I Trauma

Schedule: 6a-6p, specific dates

No call

Duties: Rounding, consults, ICU, ER, and OR coverage

First assist would be helpful, but is not required

Support Staff: APPs, MAs

EMR: eCW

Must be board-certified

ATLS required
