Licensed Practice NurseScheduled Weekly Hours: 0Participates as a team member in the implementation of the nursing process in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Responsible and accountable for a group of patients spanning all ages, cultures and disability concerns for a designated time frame. Functions within policies, practice guidelines and nursing standards of Sturdy Memorial Hospital in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, CDC and OSHA standards, and any other applicable regulatory or accreditation agency. Assists with training, onboarding, and professional development efforts of new and/or existing clinical team members including Medical Assistants. Mentors office staff and facilitates team development.Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:Experienced clinical nursing skillsDemonstrated ability to interact with patients in promoting an excellent and safe patient experienceAbility to measure, document, and monitor vitals, weight, and heightAbility to obtain a basic medical history including chief complaint, medication history, social history, and family historyKnowledge and understanding to appropriately triaging patientsEstablishes excellent rapport with patients including patient educationAbility to prepare patients for all types of visits and in-office procedures using the appropriate medical suppliesAbility to communicate patient's health and behavioral status to providersMaintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and co-workers by following standards and proceduresDemonstrates necessary functions to maintain continuity of care for patientsKnowledge and experience of administrating medications/immunizationsExtensive clinical knowledge to assist patient questions over the phone and in-personManage patient issues including the appropriate triage of questions and concerns around medical conditionsAbility to handle difficult patient interactions with easeEducation/Training:Graduate of a Licensed Practice Nurse ProgramLicenses/Certification:Current Massachusetts licensureBLS competentUnit/Specialty specific certificationsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
