Position Details Role: Lead Veterinary Technician Status: Full-time Salary: Negotiable and based on experience Schedule: 1-2 days off. Why You'll Love It Here Lead and mentor a talented, supportive veterinary team Work in a collaborative environment built on kindness, respect, and professionalism Enjoy leadership that values open communication and employee well‑being Help shape hospital culture while continuing to grow your own leadership skills Be part of a team committed to exceptional patient care and compassionate client service Maintain a healthy work‑life balance in a positive, drama‑free workplace What You'll Do Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants Train new team members and encourage continued professional development Partner with the Hospital Manager to oversee daily workflow and hospital operations Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgery, and medical procedures Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and accurate medical records Perform laboratory testing and prepare samples for reference laboratories Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments Intubate and extubate patients while monitoring anesthesia throughout procedures Prepare surgical patients, instruments, and equipment while maintaining sterile technique Obtain high‑quality diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning techniques Educate clients on preventative care, medications, nutrition, and treatment recommendations Help ensure the highest standards of patient care, client service, and operational excellence are consistently achieved What You'll Bring Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician; leadership experience preferred Current veterinary technician license preferred where applicable Strong technical skills, including anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, laboratory procedures, radiology, and patient nursing Excellent communication and client education skills A passion for mentoring, coaching, and supporting teammates Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment A collaborative leadership style built on accountability, compassion, and respect A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and outstanding client service The Extras You'll Actually Feel Leadership isn't just a title at Northwood Oaks Veterinary Hospital—it's an opportunity to make a lasting difference.
