Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Echo Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiography procedures to support cardiac assessments and patient care. This role requires technical expertise in ultrasound imaging and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

• Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms following established protocols.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring clear imaging and quality results.
• Adhere to unit policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients to prepare them for procedures and ensure comfort.
• Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for diagnostic interpretation and patient management.

Qualifications:

• Certified as an Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer through ARDMS or equivalent credential.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience performing echocardiography procedures.
• Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment, protocols, and cardiac anatomy.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
