Social Media Intern

We are seeking a highly creative, social media-savvy Social Media Intern to support our brand’s organic social content creation and local event initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who naturally creates content, keeps up with social media trends, understands what makes short-form video engaging, and is comfortable both behind and in front of the camera. Professional brand experience is not required. We are open to candidates who have built their skills through their own social channels, personal projects, school organizations, or content created for friends, creators, or local businesses. This is an in-person role based in Wilmington, North Carolina , requiring availability approximately 2–3 days per week . What You’ll Do Social Content Creation Concept, film, and edit short-form content for platforms including Instagram and TikTok. Create product-focused content independently from home or other approved locations. Spend approximately one day per week filming content with members of our founding team, including occasional filming at their homes or other local locations. Translate social trends into content concepts that feel relevant and appropriate for the brand. Assist with developing hooks, scripts, shot lists, transitions, and other creative elements. Capture both planned content and spontaneous social-first moments. Local Events & Activations Support the planning and execution of local brand events, fitness classes, tastings, retail activations, and community experiences. Assist with event setup and breakdown, including transporting, organizing, and displaying materials. Capture photo and video content during events for social media and future marketing use. Engage comfortably with consumers, creators, partners, and event attendees. What We’re Looking For Deep interest in social media, content creation, and short-form video. Strong familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, platform trends, and social-first storytelling. Experience filming and editing video content, whether professionally or through personal social channels. A strong creative eye and an understanding of framing, lighting, pacing, hooks, and visual presentation. Comfortable using mobile editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, InShot, Canva, or similar platforms. Outgoing, personable, and comfortable interacting with people in public settings. Comfortable appearing on camera when needed. Organized, dependable, proactive, and able to meet deadlines. Willing to assist with hands-on event tasks, including setup, breakdown, carrying supplies, and working at booths. Able to travel locally throughout the Wilmington area. Available for occasional evening or weekend events. Currently enrolled in college, recently graduated, or pursuing relevant hands‑on experience. All fields of study are welcome. Preferred Qualifications An active personal social media presence or experience managing a social account. Experience creating lifestyle, beauty, wellness, food, fitness, product, or UGC‑style content. Basic familiarity with photography, lighting, audio, or video production. Experience supporting events, student organizations, community programs, retail activations, or hospitality environments. Interest in wellness, consumer brands, beauty, lifestyle, or ecommerce.
