Survey Manager

A growing, multi-disciplined professional services firm is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to lead and coordinate its surveying operations. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands both the field and office sides of surveying and enjoys managing people, projects, technology, schedules, and client deliverables. The Survey Manager will oversee day-to-day survey operations while helping improve workflow, quality, efficiency, and communication between field crews and the office. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate field and office survey operations, including staff, schedules, project priorities, and deliverables. Serve as a primary point of communication between field crews, office personnel, clients, and leadership. Review survey work and processed data for accuracy, quality, and completeness prior to delivery. Coordinate project schedules, equipment, permits, travel logistics, and other requirements necessary for successful field mobilization. Work with CAD files, including point files, layers, coordinate data, and preparation of survey deliverables. Support field operations utilizing total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors, and related survey equipment. Assist with aerial surveying and mapping utilizing drones, including mission planning, Ground Control Points (GCPs), and RTK/PPK positioning workflows. Process and manage survey data, including orthomosaics, elevation models, 3D point clouds, photogrammetry, and LiDAR/laser scan data. Maintain organized project records, CAD libraries, coordinate databases, and digital files. Help identify opportunities to improve workflow, technology utilization, quality control, and overall operational efficiency. Develop and mentor team members while promoting accountability, safety, communication, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience in surveying, civil engineering, construction, or a closely related field. Strong understanding of field and office survey operations. Experience coordinating multiple projects, crews, schedules, and deadlines. Working knowledge of CAD and survey data processing. Familiarity with GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, and data collectors. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, field personnel, vendors, and company leadership. Comfortable balancing management responsibilities with hands-on technical work. Experience with drone mapping, photogrammetry, LiDAR, or 3D scanning is highly desirable. FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred. Prior experience leading or mentoring survey personnel is preferred.
