Job Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products in a safe, secure, and productive manner. The role requires operating a forklift to ensure the efficient movement of customer products, while maintaining safety standards and recording production code dates accurately. This position also involves checking and counting products to ensure they are free of damage and infestation.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift for storing, shipping, and receiving products.
- Ensure products are free of damage and infestation.
- Accurately record production code dates.
- Safely and efficiently move customer's products.
- Support various locations based on business needs.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and write English.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Self-motivation and willingness to work hard.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Prompt regular attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be able to lift or transfer up to 530 lbs constantly and 3150 lbs occasionally.
- Experience with material handling, picking, loading, general labor, RF scanner, packing, and warehouse inventory.
- Knowledge of sit down and stand up forklifts, pallet jack, reach truck, and order picking.

Work Environment
The warehouse is clean and fast-paced, with temperatures ranging from warm in the summer to cold in the winter (around 45 degrees). Employees are required to wear warehouse-appropriate attire with closed-toe/heeled shoes. Available shifts include various options throughout the week, including weekends, with opportunities for overtime. Training occurs at SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with hours initially set from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and shifts available after training include Fri to Sun 6am to 6pm and Fri to Sun 5:30pm to 5:30am among others.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
