Cancer Registry Manager

Job Number: 176590, Job Title: Cancer Registry Manager, Salary: $84,926.40 - $110,406.40 Job Summary The Cancer Registry Manager demonstrates expertise in Cancer Registry functions and will have oversight and supervision of all Harris Health System Cancer Registry Program work activities and registry operation. The Manager is responsible for staffing and management, producing reports, performing audits, and providing training. The Manager codes, stages, and abstracts all cases of cancer diagnosed and/or treated at Harris Health. The role assures compliance related to Texas Cancer Registry guidelines, American College of Surgeons (ACOS), and Commission on Cancer (CoC). The Manager performs data entry utilizing Elekta (Mosaiq) software, maintains the quality and integrity of the database, and ensures compliance with all internal and external policies, regulations, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Health Care Information Management (preferred) or applicable field. Certified Tumor Registrar required. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an ACoS accredited Cancer Registry department. Three (3) years of management experience in a Cancer Registry department. Equipment operated: PC, calculator, Microsoft Office. Special Requirements Communication Skills: Above-average verbal communication (heavy public contract), exceptional verbal communication (e.g., public speaking); writing and composing (correspondence/report writing). Other Skills: Analytical; CRT; medical terms; computer proficiency; statistical analysis; typing 45 wpm; word processing. Advanced Education: Bachelor's degree (major: Health Care Information Management or applicable field). Work schedule: Flexible.
