Laundry Technician

Job Summary Location: Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Pay Rate: Hourly ($11.50 - $12.50/hr). Shift: Evening (Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM). Lunch: 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM. Availability: Must be able to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed. Responsibilities Sort, fold, and iron clean laundry according to specifications. Load industrial dryers and manage linen backlogs. Count, restock, and deliver exchange carts to designated department floors and clinical areas. Receive and sort soiled linen using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Inspect linens to ensure high quality control standards. Clean and organize the workspace at the end of the shift, ensuring all linens are properly covered. Physical Requirements Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout an 8‑hour shift. Ability to continuously push and pull heavy linen carts (over 100 lbs.). Ability to lift 20-40 lbs. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hot, and humid commercial laundry plant environment. Qualifications 1 year of commercial laundry experience preferred (but not required). High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
