Job Description

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will:

• Drive sales growth through consultative and solution-based selling.
• Develop new business opportunities across both standard products and custom-engineered solutions.
• Provide technical application support throughout the sales process.
• Identify customer requirements and develop tailored engineering solutions.
• Create and deliver technical presentations to customers and prospects.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams on product development and custom projects.
• Manage customer projects from concept through implementation.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Support programme and project management activities as required.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver successful customer outcomes.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Field Applications Engineer - Technical Sales should have:

• Experience with technical sales and customer-facing application discussions.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and explain technical options clearly.
• Experience presenting technical information to customers and sales contacts.
• Ability to connect product applications with practical customer needs.
• Experience working with sales teams on customer opportunities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical discussions. The ideal Technical Sales Engineer will possess:

• 7+ years of experience in Technical Sales, Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a related commercial engineering role.
• Proven experience selling engineered products, industrial equipment, manufacturing solutions, or custom technical solutions.
• Strong ability to understand customer applications and translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Experience working closely with Engineering teams on customised products or technical projects.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building abilities.
• Project management or programme management experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and add value with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated success in consultative sales and complex solution selling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-25% for customer meetings and trade shows.
• Ability to work onsite in Billerica, Massachusetts during the initial onboarding period.
