About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience required, including travel experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience, Patient Ratio Experience of 2:1 Description: L&D night shift position available. NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, and ACLS certifications are required. 36/48 alternating or straight 36 hours considered. Two years of experience and travel experience are required. Skills needed include administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, antepartum care, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medication, and performing APGAR scores. Assist with amniocentesis, high-risk delivery, and sterile speculum exams. Support vaginal delivery and provide lactation support. Experience with cervical cerclage, cesarean sections, and circulating for c-sections is necessary. Manage hemorrhage/shock and high-risk antepartum scenarios. Must be proficient in infant identification and use of IV insulin drips. Interpret dysrhythmias and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols. Experience in labor and delivery, magnesium sulfate therapy, maintaining central lines, and handling multiple births is essential. Perform non-stress tests, oxytocin challenge tests, and pain assessments. Understand postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension management. Utilize radiant warmers for thermoregulation and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Recover C-sections and perform assessments related to reflex checks, edema, clonus, and wound care. Experience with fetal monitoring, IV monitoring, and intrapartum care is required. Skills in using PCA and IUPC placement are needed. Triage obstetrical patients effectively. Complete six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule is expected. Provide quality care to neonates and adults in a 17-bed unit.
