This position is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient student transportation by assisting with boarding, securing passengers, operating assistive equipment, and maintaining safety protocols. This position also supports students with special needs and collaborates with the bus driver to create a secure and supportive environment.

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting, with occasional kneeling, sitting, and reaching to assist students and operate bus equipment. The role involves lifting and securing objects weighing up to 100 lbs., such as wheelchairs, safety harnesses, and other assistive devices, using proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injury. Duties may require working in various positions, including crouching or kneeling, to secure student restraints or assist with mobility equipment. Work is conducted primarily on buses and at pickup or drop-off locations, with exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind), and environmental factors such as noise, vibrations, and potential distractions. Frequent exposure to bus-related sensory challenges requires focus, resilience, and sustained physical stamina, particularly during extended shifts or challenging situations. Strict adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is essential. Regular training on equipment operation, workplace safety, and the effective use of PPE is required to ensure a secure and compliant transportation environment for all passengers.
