As an Orkin Pest Control Technician, you'll work in the field rather than behind a desk. You'll drive a company vehicle to customer locations, inspect homes and businesses, identify pest problems, perform pest control services, solve problems, and build relationships with customers. Responsibilities

Your experience could be a great fit. No pest control experience? That's okay. You don't have to come from the pest control industry to become an Orkin Pest Control Technician. We provide the training you need to learn the job and build a career. Your experience as a maintenance technician, field service technician, service technician, HVAC technician, HVAC helper, construction worker, construction laborer, carpenter, roofer, plumber, landscaper, lawn care technician, groundskeeper, facilities technician, apartment maintenance technician, property maintenance technician, handyman, home improvement worker, delivery driver, route driver, warehouse worker, agriculture worker, farm worker, military veteran, customer service representative, or retail associate can provide valuable skills for this position. We're looking for reliable people who are willing to learn, comfortable working independently, good with customers, and take pride in doing quality work.

What You'll Do:

• Drive a company vehicle to customer homes and businesses throughout your assigned route.
• Inspect homes, businesses, and properties for signs of pests, insects, rodents, and other pest activity.
• Identify pest issues and determine appropriate treatment and prevention solutions.
• Perform interior and exterior pest control services using company-provided products, tools, and equipment.
• Treat common household pests such as ants, spiders, cockroaches, wasps, and other insects.
• Explain your findings and recommendations clearly to customers.
• Provide professional customer service and pest prevention advice.
• Manage your daily route and appointments while working independently.
• Use a smartphone or tablet to document services, complete reports, and communicate with customers.
• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable pesticide regulations.
• Work in a variety of environments, including homes, businesses, garages, basements, crawl spaces, attics, and outdoor areas.
• Build positive customer relationships and represent the Orkin brand professionally.

No two days are exactly alike. You'll visit different customers, solve different problems, and work in different environments throughout your service area.

Qualifications

Pest control experience is not required. We'll provide the training you need to learn pest control. Experience in maintenance, construction, HVAC, landscaping, lawn care, agriculture, home improvement, facilities, property maintenance, field service, delivery, route service, customer service, or other hands-on work can translate well to this position. Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Ability to obtain the appropriate state pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment; company-paid training provided
• Ability to safely climb and work from ladders within the manufacturer's weight capacity
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, basements, rooftops, and other challenging environments
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include an OSHA-compliant respirator
