K-12 Athletic Coordinator
Reports to: CSD Athletic Director Location: Centralia School District Bargaining Unit: Non-Represented FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary The K-12 Athletic Coordinator provides leadership, organization, promotion, and oversight for youth athletic programming and K-12 athletic initiatives designed to support student growth, skill development, leadership, sportsmanship, and positive school-community engagement. This position works collaboratively with district staff, coaches, families, and community organizations to develop and maintain engaging athletic opportunities for students while supporting the District's broader K-12 athletic vision and action plan. The K-12 Athletic Coordinator serves as a key liaison between elementary programs and secondary athletics, helping establish consistent expectations, developmental pathways, school pride, and positive experiences for all participants. Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree
• Successful experience in an elementary school setting with basic understanding of various sports programs with an emphasis on K-12 skill development
• Experience developing programs that reflect the skills and abilities of participants while creating fun and engaging experiences
• Ability to provide leadership to all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, coaches, community members, etc.) involved in the creation, development, and growth of programs
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed while working with a high degree of collaboration
• Ability to communicate effectively, possess awareness for self and others, listen actively, demonstrate patience, incorporate humor and lightheartedness into work, show empathy, maintain a growth mindset, and provide excellent customer service
• Ability to work in a calm, efficient, courteous manner under stress and exercise careful judgment, confidentiality, and tact in the performance of duties
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and foster positive relationships

• Completion of necessary WIAA and District trainings required for work assignment

• Successful experience in Elementary Physical Education
• Successful experience in a leadership role
• Experience coordinating youth programs, events, or athletic operations
• Experience working with diverse individuals and communities
• Experience with social media management, graphic design, or digital communications
• Experience with athletic registration platforms and database management systems. Essential Functions Program Leadership & Student Development
• Supports and helps implement all K-12 athletic initiatives
• Serves as the Student-Athlete Development Lead for the District
• Coordinates and supports summer athletic training opportunities and programs
• Assists with the development and implementation of the Student-Athlete Leadership Council
• Collaborates with District coaches and athletic staff to support implementation of the K-12 Athletic Action Plan
• Promotes positive sportsmanship, inclusion, student engagement, and community involvement Community & School Engagement
• Serves as liaison between the District and community youth sports organizations
• Develops partnerships and strengthens connections between community programs and District athletics
• Coordinates High School and Elementary engagement opportunities designed to build school pride and student connections
• Organizes and supports student-athlete appreciation and recognition initiatives
• Coordinates and assists with Senior Night celebrations and athletic banquet recognition programs Communications, Media & Marketing
• Leads athletic department social media content creation and communications efforts
• Coordinates athletic website maintenance, newsletters, and promotional materials
• Serves as video board lead for athletic event content creation and management
• Coordinates athletic picture days and media day events
• Assists with sponsorship outreach and sponsorship sales efforts to support District athletic programs Operations & Compliance
• Assists with the operation and coordination of K-12 athletic programs and events
• Assists with registration, eligibility, and compliance processes for K-12 athletic programming.
• Assists with development and management of facility use agreements and scheduling coordination
• Implements and maintains effective parent and family communication systems
• Develops and administers parent, coach, and student surveys to support program improvement
• Assists with securing grants and external funding opportunities Leadership & Collaboration
• Serves as a member of the District Athletic Leadership Team
• Works closely and collaboratively with elementary school office staff and administration
• Collaborates with the District Physical Education Department to support student skill development and program alignment
• Attends meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as assigned or appropriate
• Performs other duties as assigned Working Conditions
• Work is performed in school, gymnasium, outdoor athletic, and office settings
• Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and summer responsibilities to support athletic programs and events
