MICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center, managing high-acuity adult patients with diagnoses including Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, DKA, GI Bleed, Cardiogenic Shock, Substance Abuse/Overdose, and severe Psychiatric conditions
• Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio in the ICU, adjusting to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Medical/Surgical units
• Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed (up to 4–5 patients per assignment)
• Chart and document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours/day

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of continuous MICU-specific experience in a single facility
• Prior experience in a community hospital or trauma center setting
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
