Outside Commercial Lines Sales Position Responsibilities Drive new business sales and retention for small business clients (companies with annual sales of less than $10 million). Achieve an annual new‑business sales goal of $80,000 by targeting the defined market. Meet new‑business activity and quality appointment goals. Research prospects using USI resources and develop customized messaging. Explain USI’s competitive differentiation to clients and prospects. Develop a sales business plan and implement effective prospecting strategies. Overcome sales obstacles specific to each prospect. Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients. Develop cross‑selling strategies for existing clients. Innovate for clients using market knowledge and a deep understanding of technical insurance issues. Participate in national vertical meetings, video calls, and training sessions. Support sales processes by using USI’s contact management and sales automation tools. Input timely and accurate information to support sales and revenue projections. Work with the account management team on significant account services for clients. Represent USI positively in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events. Qualifications Two or more years of sales experience in an insurance brokerage with a proven track record of success. College degree preferred. Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license. Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance products. Personable, highly motivated, and goal‑oriented with a drive to achieve individual sales goals. Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Excellent organizational and follow‑up skills. Consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to engaging prospects, clients, and associates. Excellent listening skills with a strong customer focus.
