Labor Relations Specialist

Overview Responsible for the administration of company collective bargaining agreements, including compliance, grievance and arbitration administration, payroll administration, negotiation assistance, and general administrative support. Key Responsibilities Interpret and guide internal clients on union contract provisions, prevailing wage laws and apprenticeship standards. Develop and maintain relationships with unions, contractor associations, trust administrators, enforcement entities, and peers to resolve labor compliance issues. Resolve financial and compliance issues with union trusts and facilitate the trust audit process. Communicate with industry associations regarding compliance interpretations and state/federal regulations. Direct dispute resolution processes and union pre‑job conferences to protect company interests. Analyze Project Labor Agreements to provide guidance on contract compliance from bid through completion. Research, analyze, and liaise with internal clients to support proposal and bargaining strategy development. Analyze wage and fringe benefit increases provided by unions to ensure compliance with contractual terms and prevailing wage laws. Create and distribute internal wage memos; coordinate with payroll to resolve related issues. Maintain the Labor Relations intranet site, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date information for internal clients. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: 3+ years in labor relations, legal, contract administration, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years with standard practices within civil construction or a related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Maintain confidentiality at all times. Demonstrated project management skills. High proficiency with MS Office Suite; quick learner of new software. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and SharePoint preferred. Strong problem‑solving skills with creative solutions. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to learning. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work under pressure with changing priorities. Excellent consultative and communication skills across all levels. Team player who operates effectively within a matrix management environment. Ability to collaborate with staff, unions, industry associations, government, and enforcement agencies. Additional Requirements/Skills Understand and support corporate safety initiatives. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive. Willingness to travel as required. Physical Demands Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. Occasionally required to reach, lift, or move up to 20 pounds. Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations available. Compensation Base Salary Range: $96,541.00 – $144,813.00 (varies by experience, skills, location, and education). Choice of two PPO medical plans; 100% premium paid for eligible employees.
